Responsibilities and Future Outlook

As an obstetrician/ gynecologist it is imperative to respect and abide by ethical foundations henceforth, patient’s welfare should be taken into account and set as priority relations should be kept as professional as possible. As an obstetrician/gynecologist it is essential to respect laws and conduct of the surrounding society. The occupational fields of obstetrics ad gynecology are often combined due to the extremely close relationship between the two specialization, the difference is embedded in the education acquired, furthermore, those specializing in obstetrics direct their focus primarily in pregnancy and issues related to it; gynecologists are those who focus on issues that are not pregnancy related (hormone, endocrinology, reproductive related diseases). With the exponentially growing population of today’s world, the demand for this certain profession is increasing, however this will be and is currently being hindered by the fact that fewer OB/GYN’s are delivering children due to the high cost of insurance related to this practice, and lawsuits are undoubtedly high. More often than not, women prefer female doctors and some even pot to deliver at birthing centers or by midwife.
